About This Book
Overview

Ethan Allen and Thomas P. Wheelock made guns from 1856 through 1865 in percussion, lipfire, and rimfire; center hammer, side hammer and bar hammer with some of the most unique ejection and tamping systems known to man. This book illustrates the many known variations of these guns with excellent photographs and descriptions. There is also a brief story of Ethan Allen’s life. Allen is credited with many important firearms patents, nine of which were filed between 1845 and 1862. While this book will be of particular interest to those who collect guns of this era, it should be a part of every library dedicated to historical arms.
